Carol Hein-Creger of the Canine Training Center presents this class for all dogs 5 months and older who have not had structured training. Topics include household manners, preventing and managing behavior issues and basic obedience exercises, including sit, stay, down, come, and walking on a leash without pulling.

Unleash your dog's potential! Instead of being roadblocks, obstacles are the bridge between dog and handler.  In this fun and practical class, teams will utilize agility obstacles in a non-competitive environment. Class size is limited! NOTE: no prong, choke, e-collar, flexi, and bring a sandwich bag full of treats like real meat and cheese (hotdogs, chicken, mozzarella sticks).

Kim Mayhew, ABCDT, introduces the AKC S.T.A.R Puppy which is the puppy level of the CGC program. "S.T.A.R." stands for Socialization, Training, Activity, and a Responsible owner, all the things every puppy needs. To earn the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy award, puppies and their owners must attend a class lasting at least 6 weeks. During this 6 week class you will learn how to best communicate with your puppy.  Organized training classes also provide an opportunity for your dog to socialize with other dogs. In classes aimed at earning the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy distinction, you'll be able to get information on all of your puppy-raising questions including house training, chewing, and the most effective way to teach practical skills such as coming when called. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy training is a natural lead in to the AKC® Canine Good Citizen® Program.

Through structured training, we'll guide you and your canine companion to surpass expectations with the removal of treats, ensuring obedience even without immediate rewards. Our sessions emphasize focus in group settings, cultivating your dog's ability to maintain attention amidst distractions. From mastering the perfect heel to practicing a reliable 'leave it' command, we'll equip you with the tools for success in any environment. While preparation for therapy dog/buddy's pals/cgc testing is offered, participation is optional, allowing you to explore this rewarding path at your own pace. Join us as we elevate obedience to an art form and forge an unbreakable bond of trust and reliability between you and your beloved dog!

Do you struggle with your dog pulling on daily walks, trouble getting them to come when they're called, getting their focus? Are you looking for an environment to continue building your skills? This class can help! This is an intermediate level class that covers loose leash walking, reliable recall, polite greeting, setting boundaries, learning practical everyday skills, and building a better relationship with your dog. Through Winter, class will be held indoors only. Prerequisite for nonreactive dogs: completion beginner class/skills.  NOTE: reactive dogs must have completed RESCUE and RESCUE 2.0 classes with Amanda. R.E.S.C.U.E. Reactive. Education. Support. Confidence.  Understanding. Energy. 

This class is for dogs that react to people and other dogs by barking, lunging, shutting down and are distressed. Having a dog that is on constant alert and anxious is hard on the owners and the dog. In this class, we will focus on better understanding of your dog's reactivity, how to communication with your dog and we will teach coping skills and desensitizing your dog with positive reinforcement.

Class does not address resource guarding and may not be suitable if that is your main problem.

PLEASE NOTE: First night of class is a Lecture only! No dogs first night of class, and it is critically important that you attend the lecture!

The first night of class will be held at 6pm for ALL sessions.

This class for reactive dogs is limited in size to 5.

In this class, teams will focus on learning the basics of sit, down, come, stay, loose leash walking, and managing problem behavior.  This class is great for all dogs over five months of age that have not had any formal training. This class will give you insight into why your dog does the things they do. It will focus on learning life skills that form the building blocks for behavior. These skills will set you and your puppy up for a life of mutual respect and communication. Some topics covered are handling distractions, recall, stationing, relaxing in the presence of other dogs, and establishing comfort with grooming. 

For dogs eight weeks to six months old.

Please bring your puppy on a harness with a standard 6 ft leash, plenty of really yummy treats (cheese, chicken, hot dogs, or similar).  Prong, slip, choke, vibration, or shock collars not permitted.

The goal of this class is to have fun with your dog while learning rally novice , connect and make new friends and enjoy a bit of wine. This class is open to all ages, no one under the age of 21 years will be allowed in the consumption of any alcohol during this class.

Please bring your dog to class on a flat buckle or martingale collar and six foot leash. No prong, shock collars or flexi leashes. Please bring a variety of high value treats for your dog such as chicken, cheese or hotdogs to class.
