This 10-week class is all about starting your puppy off on the right paw. Designed for puppies up to 6 months old (older pups may be allowed at trainer's discretion), we'll focus on creating calm, confident learners through positive reinforcement, thoughtful prevention and game-styled learning. Inspired by Leslie McDevitt's Control Unleashed®: The Puppy Program, this course blends foundational training with early socialization, emotional regulation, impulse control and proactive behavior support—helping you and your puppy develop a strong relationship and the tools to move through the world together with confidence. What We'll Cover: - Early Socialization – Positive exposure to people, environments, and experiences to reduce fear and anxiety later in life.
- Emotional Regulation & Relaxation – Teaching puppies how to settle, self-regulate, and navigate different environments—essential life skills that lay the groundwork for future success.
- Preventative Habits – Setting your pup up for long-term success by addressing common behavior challenges before they start.
- Essential Cues – Safety-first skills like recall, leave-it, and drop-it.
- Focus & Manners – Appropriate greetings with guests and family members in your home, and how to calmly and respectfully pass other dogs, people, or distractions like bikers on walks. "
First Night of Class is a dog-free lecture, please do not bring your puppy!
Sundays 5:15-6:15 pm. Ten weeks: 6/1-8/10 (No class 7/6) ATTENTION: All students must fill out a training survey. Please provide proof of vaccinations ON or BEFORE the first night of class. Can now be uploaded at sign up, but not required.
